Joshua Skarphol is a guy who loves data and has a passion for helping people gather it and use it well. Joshua has spent over 20 years working on data warehouses in the financial, healthcare, and retail industries, in roles ranging from developer to architect. Most of his career has been spent working with large SQL Server and Teradata systems, migrating reporting systems, data integration systems, and data warehouse platforms. However, his most recent experience has given him the opportunity to move from on-premise data warehousing to the cloud. In fact, Joshua found the capabilities of cloud data warehousing so compelling, he joined Snowflake, a company that built a data warehouse for the cloud (https://www.snowflake.com). In his current role as Consulting Manager with Snowflake’s Professional Services organization, Joshua helps Snowflake’s customers with their own migrations to the cloud. Unsurprisingly, Joshua’s passion for data has “migrated” into his personal life, where on numerous occasions he’s informed his wife and four children “we are a data-driven family.”
